I'm so glad you're here.

My Story

My name is Sarah Felts, and I am the designer behind S.E. Felts Designs. I recently graduated from North Carolina State University with a B.S. in Fashion and Textile Management with a concentration in Fashion Development and Product Management. However, for those who don't know, I explain it as I have a passion for the whole design process, garment construction, and all things sewing!
Funnily enough, though, growing up, I never knew what I wanted to be when I got older, and that continued right up until my freshman year of college. I started in "Exploratory Studies" and knew my sights were set on either engineering, architecture, or something fashion-related. Shocking, I know, as those are some of the top programs offered at NC State; however, I was leaning more towards engineering going into college. But once I found out about the programs offered through Wilson College of Textiles, I immediately knew that I wanted to major in Fashion and Textile Management, as opposed to Fashion Design. Frankly, because I was scared of not being able to make it into the program and of job opportunities afterwards, as the market is very saturated, and I did doubt my abilities at the time.
However, over time, I got this idea in my head to start my own company, and while I was still scared, the idea stuck, and here we are. What drives me to move forward with this desire is the provision I've been blessed with to cover all of my start-up costs, a very supportive core group, and the joy that this would bring little me, as I always found new hobbies, crafts, sports, etcetera to try out. I also have a very strong passion to make things for others that resonate with them, as I love working with clients to make them feel seen. There are also always new techniques you can learn when it comes to sewing, and that's why it's been the longest hobby of mine that has stuck around!
So that's my story in a nutshell, but before I leave you, I'll provide a few quick facts about myself (for fun:) -
1. I am the youngest sibling to my older sister Jenna, who is a nurse (very opposite paths, if you couldn't tell)
2. I played 13 different sports growing up, and I stuck with dance the longest
3. I LOVE dogs, squirrels, bears, and tigers
4. My favorite movies are Gnomeo & Juliet and Home on the Range (though my college roommates would disagree)
5. I thoroughly enjoy a Dr. Pepper when I can
